Dedicated Talent
Joel works with a variety of talented musicians in many diverse styles. His current projects include: touring with Another Pint singing and playing Irish and Folk music; performing original Roots-Rock music with The Rubes; recording engineer at Jazz Institute of Chicago concerts; performing lead guitar weekly at the Believe contemporary service at Redeemer in Hinsdale; producing his next album of original songs; and teaching music.

History
Joel started writing songs when he was fourteen. He played guitar as a child and eventually went on to study music. Joel first went to College of DuPage where he earned an Associate in Arts degree. While at COD he studied classical guitar. Then he earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Music Business from Elmhurst College. At Elmhurst, Joel studied piano, guitar, voice and audio engineering. Several of the projects that Joel engineered were commercially released. One of the projects by the Skimmingtons was released by Eaton Records. Joel worked as an intern for Sony/Columbia Records' Midwest A&R Manager.
Throughout the years Joel has performed regularly in dozens of bands and ensembles. He currently plays guitar and sings with several bands. In addition to the bands, he also performs as a solo artist and in a classical flute and guitar duo with his wife, Amy.
Until April 2001, Joel was employed by Peterson Electro-Musical Products, Inc. His position there was to coordinate the advertising, sales, and marketing of Peterson strobe tuners.
Currently, Joel is a self-employed musician, producer, music teacher, and engineer. |
