What is Right for You?

Chiropractic is a branch of the healing arts which is based upon the understanding that good health depends upon a normally functioning nervous system, especially the spine.  Your spinal column is a series of movable bones which begin at the base of your skull and end in the center of your hips.  Thirty-one pairs of spinal nerves extend from the brain down through the spine.  The nerves leave the spine and form a complicated network which influences every living tissue in your body.

The examination of the spine to evaluate structure and function is what makes chiropractic different from other health care appraoches.  Accidents, falls, stress, tension, and countless other factors can result in a displacements or derangements of the spinal column, causing irritation to spinal nerve roots.  Chiropractic methods believe that reducing or eliminating irritation to spinal nerves helps the body operate more efficiently and comfortably.  The conditions which doctors of chiropractic address are as varied and as vast as the nervous system itself. 

There are as many people skeptical of chiropractic claims as there are believers, much like the topics of angels, psychics, and whatever else modern culture can come up with.

More Time For the Things That Matter

Do you spend more time cleaning your living room than enjoying the space? 

Allow yourself to take a break.  Give yourself two minutes to just sit and enjoy.  Spend the first minute relaxing and the second minute planning the rest of your activites.  It can profoundly improve your mood, mental health, or organizational abilities to give yourself these little moments to "get it together."

Candy is Candy 

As the witches, goblins, spacemen and princesses show up at your door, how can you participate in the tradition and not contribute to unhealthy eating?  You can't.  Candy is candy and that is the name of the game.

But you can ensure a healthy and well balanced lifestyle for your own little monsters once their pumpkins are full of chocolate and candy. 

Keep all of the candy in a safe place and allow a predetermined number of peices per day.  Use it as incentive for positive changes behavior.  Serve extra vegetables and fruits at every meals so they are not fueled by pure poison and sugar.   And most importantly, exercise, exercise, exercise.   Don't let them eat junk while they watch TV or play video games.  Take them to a park to run around.  Put on a favorite album and have a family dance-a-thon.  Set a good example.
